What’s up guys? My name is Jessie! I started training for the Tour de Turtles race right after I nested in Florida in May. Since then, I’ve been stretching my flippers and perfecting my dive to take on the other competitors. Luckily I’ve been able to time my long distance swims and sprints thanks to my sponsors at Certina watches. We decided to partner up with the Tour de Turtles program to help raise awareness about boat strikes and safe boating practices. I myself was actually the victim of a boat strike, and have the scars to prove it! But I was very lucky to survive. Now it is my life’s mission to raise awareness about this important issue. Like my friends at Certina say, “you can count on me!” I haven’t decided what route I should take to my foraging grounds yet but I’m looking to set a new record this year by swimming the farthest in the shortest amount of time, so I’ll need everyone cheering for me! The countdown to the finish line begins now!
