Que tal amigos! Me llamo es Milagro, which is Spanish for “miracle.” I’m known as quite a miracle around these parts as the scarring on my shell indicates that I survived a boat strike. Which is why I need your help to raise awareness about this important issue and keep an eye out for any speeding boats. Turtles like me can be hit by boats when we come to the surface to breathe or when feeding and mating in shallow areas. I was very fortunate to survive my injury but not all turtles are as lucky! That’s why with the help of my friends at the Sea Turtle Conservancy, I plan to educate as many people as I can about safe boating practices and the dangers of boat strikes. Hope you’ll cheer me on during the race this year. See you on the water! Adios amigos!
I was named by my Sponsor, Sea Turtle Conservancy. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awareness about the threat of Boat Strikes to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
