Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce myself… I’m Missy “Misdemeanor” Shelliott. No need to lose control, I know I’m quite an icon around these waters for my musical stylings. I’m also super passionate about sustainability, especially reducing plastic debris in the marine environment. It is estimated that more than 100 million marine animals are killed each year due to plastic debris in the ocean. More than 80% of this plastic comes from land, washing out from our beaches and streets. As a result, thousands of sea turtles accidentally swallow these plastics, mistaking them for food. So, put that plastic down, flip it and reverse it (right into the recycling bin). Or even better, choose a more eco-friendly, reusable alternative. Backed by the support of Green Spoon Sales, we’re preparing to go global and raise awareness about this issue. But we can’t do it without you! If we all work together, that would be supa-dupa fly.

I was named by my Sponsor, Green Spoon. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awareness about the threat of Plastic and Marine Debris to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
