Saving Sea Turtles is a Marathon, Not a Sprint

Turtle Bio Page

Moana the sea turtle is strong-willed and independent – just like her namesake, Moana of Motunui. Moana creates her own path, and knows that when you push yourself to new limits, you can cross any ocean. That’s why she is thrilled to swim in this year’s Tour de Turtles, sponsored by Disney Conservation Fund, to help raise awareness for an important cause: light pollution! Just as Moana uses the night sky to guide her wayfinding, so do sea turtle hatchlings when they use the natural light of the moon to find their way to the ocean. We can help these amazing animals by lowering our lights by the beach at night to reduce light pollution and help them start their journey.

I was named by my Sponsor, Disney Conservation Fund. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awareness about the threat of Light Pollution to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
