Saving Sea Turtles is a Marathon, Not a Sprint

Turtle Bio Page

Oh. Em. GEE! I’m Reef Witherspoon and I’m just tickled pink to be participating in the Tour de Turtles this year! Swimming in a marathon is just the thing I need to kick off the summer and boost my already impressive resume. Plus, “exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy”. It’s a win-win! Along the way, I’m collaborating with the brilliant minds at Graft Cider to help raise awareness about a threat that is super close to my heart, oil spills. Did you know jellies and other marine life can actually become contaminated by chemicals from oil spills and runoff? When these nasty toxins enter the ocean, they never leave! They accumulate in our food sources and even on the beach, and make my friends and I very sick! To that, I object! But if we all work together, I know we can help clean up the oceans. “What, like it’s hard?!”

I was named by my Sponsor, Graft Cider. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awareness about the threat of Oil Spills to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
