Saving Sea Turtles is a Marathon, Not a Sprint

Turtle Bio Page

Hi friends! My name is Tortie! I’m not a nesting female like most of the turtles in the marathon, I’m a juvenile sea turtle. I was totally not in marathon form when I was first rescued. I was found unable to dive AND covered in tumors from fibropapillomatosis! My friends at the Turtle Hospital helped get me back on my flippers since I wasn’t doing so hot and they said that my journey has been nothing short of a miracle! My treatment at the Turtle Hospital included tumor removal surgeries, broad spectrum antibiotics, fluids, vitamins and a healthy diet of greens and mixed seafood. I’m racing to spread the word about Boat Strikes because so many of my turtle friends at The Turtle Hospital were there because they been injured by boats! Make sure to cheer for me and spread the word about my cause!

I was named by my Sponsor, The Turtle Hospital. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awareness about the threat of Boat Strikes to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
