Saving Sea Turtles is a Marathon, Not a Sprint

Turtle Bio Page

What’s up y’all? It’s Megan Thee Turtle! While I am not from Texas like my namesake, I am still a certified hot girl from Costa Rica and I am swimming to raise awareness about the threat of invasive species predation on turtle nests. Every few years, we turtles participate in Hot Girl Summer and lay our eggs on sandy beaches throughout the Caribbean. Because I spend nearly all of my life in the ocean, it takes a lot of work to get my body-ody-ody onto the sand, select a perfect spot to nest, and lay eggs. After all of that hard work to create the next generation of sea turtles, it’s possible that my nest could be completely destroyed by invasive species like domestic dogs and cats who aren’t controlled by their owners. To make sure that this doesn’t happen, I need you humans to get Tuned In and secure your dogs and cats, pick up trash from the beach, support spay and neuter programs to decrease feral invasive species in your area, and contact local law enforcement if you witness predation on sea turtle nests or hatchlings.

I was named by my Sponsor, Graft Cider. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awareness about the threat of Invasive Species Predation to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
