Saving Sea Turtles is a Marathon, Not a Sprint

Turtle Bio Page

Hey there! My name is Robin and I am one of two adult green turtles participating in the Tour de Turtles. My interests include swimming marathons, accessorizing, and eating a strictly vegetarian diet. I’ve been training hard for my next marathon so I’m spending a lot of time in the water, as most sea turtles do. And you know what I’ve noticed recently? A lot of this water is totally not sanitary! In fact, I heard through the grapevine that humans have been allowing chemicals and waste to run-off in my training area. Even if it isn’t direct pollution, harmful toxins like fertilizer and pesticides are sneakily making their way towards the ocean. Pollutants harm other marine animals and plants too by depleting the water of nutrients and oxygen we all need to survive. I used my connections to hook up with the folks at Wildlife Collections and they’re going to help us put a stop to this madness and raise awareness about this issue. After all, you can’t expect me to swim a race in polluted water… I don’t want to ruin my jewelry!

I was named by my Sponsor, fahlo. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awareness about the threat of Water Quality to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
