Saving Sea Turtles is a Marathon, Not a Sprint

Turtle Bio Page

Hi folks! I’m Kermit the Turtle, not to be confused with that other green guy… Unlike Kermit the Frog, I’m a female green sea turtle. And let me tell ya, it’s not easy being green! I have to steer clear of buildings with bright lights and watch out for people carrying flashlights on the beach! That’s why I love to come up and lay my eggs near Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. They installed sea turtle friendlylighting on their property and work with Disney’s conservation team to educate guests about how dangerous light pollution can be for sea turtles. With the help of the Disney Team, I will do my very best to win this race and spread the word about the importance of sea turtle friendlylighting! As my namesake, Kermit the frog would say, “time’s fun when you’re having flies!”

I was named by my Sponsor, Disney Conservation Fund. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awareness about the threat of Light Pollution to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
