Saving Sea Turtles is a Marathon, Not a Sprint

Turtle Bio Page

Surfs up, dudes! I’m Tamarind! Even though I was born in Florida, I’m quite the world traveler and my name was actually inspired by the delicious tropical fruit that grows in the Bahamas. It was given to me by my amazing sponsors at Atlantis Paradise Island. They’ve been supporting my other leatherback friends for 10 years! I was so excited when I heard it was finally my turn to represent Team Atlantis in this year’s Tour de Turtles race. Hopefullymy world experiences will help me win the race! I’ve already visited the coastal waters of many countries. I’m proud to say my travels have been quite sustainable as I’ve been taking my reusable bags, straw and cup with me on my journey and saying “no” to single-use plastic. I definitely don’t want to contribute to the growing problem of plastic debris! I plan to educate as many people as I can about this issue during the Tour de Turtles. Where should I travel next? I’m thinking Canada or Nova Scotia! Catch ya on the flip side!

I was named by my Sponsor, Atlantis Paradise Island. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awareness about the threat of Plastic Debris to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
