Alert the masses! I, Mei Mei, have officially entered the Tour de Turtles race! I’ve spent the past 25 years traveling around to lovely places in the Caribbean Sea before my friends at JD.com chose me to join the migration marathon. I recently nested on a beautiful black sand beach in Tortuguero and was just too tickled at the idea of joining the Tour de Turtles! Some say I have a flair for the dramatic, but really I just want to make sure everyone knows how important my cause is. In my opinion, it’s the most important part of this entire event! I am swimming to raise awareness about the threat of egg harvest for consumption. You can help me by supporting ecotourism based on turtles like me and not on consumption, keeping a safe distance away from our nests, and reporting poachers who try to steal eggs from our nests! Even though I’ve been training all summer, I’m still not fast enough to catch those poachers on my own so it’s a good thing I have you and my friends at the JD.com to help me out! Now let’s bring home that trophy!
I was named by my Sponsor,
JD.com. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awarness about the threat of Egg Harvest for Consumption to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
