Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, am I excited to be participating in the 10th annual Tour de Turtles, woo-hoo! I’m Sanchez the green turtle. I just love swimming and splashing and eating as much sea grass as I can! Racing in the Tour de Turtles is going to be such a hoot! Even though crawling up the beach and laying almost 100 eggs in Tortuguero was tiring, I’ve had some time to rest and now have all my energy back. I’m ready to swim as far and fast as I can to help raise awareness for a good cause, and that is to teach all you folks about the dangers of climate change. Because sea turtles use both marine and terrestrial habits, the effects of climate change are likely to have a devastating impact on us. How scary does that sound?! Climate change affects nesting beaches, coastal habitat, gender ratio of hatchlings and more! With the help of my great and knowledgeable sponsors at World Nomads, we can teach everyone about how to help me and my friends. Oh, this is going to be so much fun! Don’t forget to cheer me on during my journey. I plan on swimming fast and far and becoming the ultimate champion. I can’t wait to share the trophy will all my new friends!
I was named by my Sponsor,
World Nomads. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awarness about the threat of Climate Change to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
