Hola! Me llamo es Soropta. I am named after the remote beach in Panama that I come from! Every year I come back to this beach to nest, and let me tell you, it is hard work. It’s not easy getting this big, beautiful body up on a beach, finding the perfect spot to nest, digging the egg chamber, laying eggs, and then dragging myself back into the water! Even after all of this work, some strange creatures like dogs, raccoons, and boars have the NERVE to dig up MY nest! You can make sure all of my work doesn’t go to waste by keeping an eye on your pets, picking up trash around your beachfront home, and supporting spay and neuter programs.
I was named by my Sponsor,
British Chelonia Group. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awarness about the threat of Invasive Species Predation to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
