Hola amigos! This is the first time any turtle from my home country of Cuba has participated in the prestigious Tour de Turtles program and I am honored to have been selected! While this race is sure going to be a shell-load of fun, I am swimming to shed some light on a serious problem that’s no bueno for all my fellow turtles. Marine pollution, like oil spills, is bad news for me and all my ocean amigos. Now, although we sea turtles are pretty tough when it comes to resisting the immediate physical damage from oil spills, we are still at risk of eating contaminated food. This is an issue muy grande because we LOVE nuestra comida deliciosa! Also, we nesting mamacitas are put even more at risk when we visit oiled shores because it puts our future niñitos in danger once they leave the nest! Ay dios mío! Please support me in the race so we can beat the toughest competitor… Pollution!

I was named by my Sponsor, Sea Life Trust. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awarness about the threat of Oil Spills to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
