My name is "Lulu." I'm an adult female loggerhead sea turtle encountered nesting on May 17, 2009, in the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge, Florida. I measure 110 cm in curved carapace (shell) length. I was named by the 6th grade kids at Parkway Middle School in Kissimmee, Florida.
A satellite transmitter was applied to my shell after I finished nesting. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim.
I'm being sponsored by the University of Central Florida. I'm swimming to raise awarness about the threat of Commercial Fisheries - Trawls to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
