Caribbean Conservation Corporation

Caribbean ConservationIt is the mission of the Caribbean Conservation Corporation to ensure the survival of sea turtles within the Wider Caribbean basin and Atlantic through research, education, training, advocacy and the protection of the natural habitats upon which they depend. CCC is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization based in Florida with offices and projects in several other locations. CCC is the oldest sea turtle organization in the world. Since its founding in 1959, CCC's work has greatly improved the survival outlook for several species of sea turtles


MeGottaMeGotta offers a quick, simple and powerful collaboration platform with over 14 integrated Web 2.0 applications. A seamless, easy-to-use interface that encourages communication through video and photo sharing, blogging, forums, and much more, can be deployed within minutes. The company also provides an interactive, animation platform as a way to send fun messages and creative promotions. These tools are shared with good causes through the "MeGotta Care” mission to promote community, education, ecology and similar endeavors.

Casa Tortuga supports sea turtle conservation through education, community outreach, and collaboration with scientific groups. Casa Tortuga is currently involved in projects that protect sea turtles and their habitat in the United States, Mexico, Uruguay and Indonesia.

Arenas del Pacifico

Arenas del PacificoArenas del Pacifico is a forward thinking real estate development company in El Salvador, Central America. It was founded in 1991 by the Guirola family and is currently led by its CEO, Marco Guirola. The Company is characterized by the philosophy that land development is sustainable only if it includes improving the environment and the social fabric and economic welfare of its neighbors, achieving desirable results through direct promotion and participation in Educational, Entrepreneurial, Environmental and Sports Programs. The Tour de Turtles sponsorship is completely aligned with this company's objectives in the first three areas, as it will assist in 1) educating about the turtle as an ecosystem indicator; 2) substituting income generation for the local population from turtle egg extraction to turtle nesting and hatching guided tours, and 3) improving the nesting and hatching prognosis in its direct area of influence. Arenas del Pacifico has implemented these types of programs successfully for over twelve years in diverse areas of El Salvador.


University of Central Florida Sea Turtle Research Program

University of Central Florida Sea Turtle Research ProgramThe Marine Turtle Research Group is a group of UCF professional scientists and student volunteers dedicated to undertaking fundamental and applied research on marine turtles whilst supporting local capacity building and environmental awareness efforts necessary for successful conservation. Led by biology professor Llew Ehrhart, the group of UCF graduate and undergraduate students study sea turtles along the Atlantic shores as the females return to the beach to nest and juvenile green turtles gather in the nearby Indian River Lagoon.

Nevis Turtle Group

Nevis Turtle GroupThe Nevis Turtle Group (NTG) is dedicated to the development of a Sea Turtle Conservation Program for Nevis that involves local communities, and ensure that sea turtles will be there for the use of present and future generations. NTG was formed in 2003 by Lemuel Pemberton. Once formed, NTG gathered together a number of concerned volunteers to help monitoring the nesting beaches on Nevis. NTG volunteers work at night on beaches around Nevis to tag sea turtles and collect information about the nesting and movement of Nevis' sea turtles. Additional information, such as levels of nest predation and poaching are collected during morning surveys. NTG also gives presentations about sea turtles at lcoal schools and works to involve children in sea turtle related activities

Archie Carr Center for Sea Turtle Research

Archie Carr Center for Sea Turtle ResearchThe mission of the Archie Carr Center for Sea Turtle Research is to conduct research in all aspects of the biology of sea turtles, to train graduate students, and to further sea turtle conservation through the communication of these research results to the scientific community, management agencies, and conservation organizations throughout the world.

Sea Turtle License Plate

Sea Turtle License PlateIn 1997, the State of Florida authorized the creation of the Sea Turtle License Plate to promote the conservation and protection of Florida's sea turtles. Today, the Sea Turtle License Plate is one of the most popular specialty plates in Florida, raising over $1 million annually. Approximately 70% of the funding generated by sales of the tag goes to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Marine Turtle Protection Program to support research and management activities related to sea turtles. Approximately 30% is distributed to the Sea Turtle Grants Program which distributes funds each year to support sea turtle research, conservation and education programs that benefit Florida sea turtles. The Sea Turtle Grants Program is administered by the non-profit Caribbean Conservation Corporation
